Porter's Cottage (Currentlythe Tourist Information Point)
Porter's Cottage. Currently the Tourist Information Point, a meeting place with a guide, was one of the first buildings designed by Leonard Dorst von Schatzberg, Schultze, and the court painter Rimondini, established after the year one thousand eight hundred forty-four by Duchess of Żagań, Dorota Talleyrand-Périgord, following the demolition of the remnants of the city's defensive walls running in the direction of the palace. During the reign of Louis Napoleon, son of Duchess Dorota, the building was significantly expanded. Previously, at a short distance, there was one of the three gates of Żagań – the Bożnowska Gate, which along with the walls and city moat was part of the medieval defense system of the city.
